The win came from the execution from the offensive and defensive lines. Opening holes for Georgio and Sweeney were: Fred Seymour, Joel Lake, Jimmy Read, Rob Prashaw, Zach McGraw, Kyle Johansen, and Brian Philibert. The victory placed the Knights in the Super Bowl against Middletown.

On Sunday evening the football team won the first Super Bowl in school history by defeating Middletown by the score of 26 to 6. Adam Sweeney scored two touchdowns on runs of 8 and 31 yards while running for 199 yards on the night. Senior captain and quarterback Zach Hornoff also scored two touchdowns on runs of 4 and 6 yards. Sweeney ran for the only successful 2 point conversion and was named the game's Most Valuable Player. Key interceptions came from Mattie Varone, and Zach Hornoff. Joel Lake recovered a key fumble on the 10 yard line in the beginning of the game that set the stage for the knights. The fumble was caused by a crushing hit by Kyle Johansen. The victory was made possible by the domination of the line of scrimmage from Knight's lineman: Fred Seymour, Jimmy Read, Josh Ritter, Joel Lake, Rob Prashaw, Zach McGraw, Kyle Johansen, Brian Philibert, and Ryan Rawnsley. John Marshal kept Middletown at bay with his punting and kick offs. The crowd greatly favored the Scarlet Knights and kept the players motivation and emotions where they needed to be. The football team greatly appreciates ALL the support it has received from everyone throughout the entire season, and realizes that without it this would not have been possible. THANK YOU
