Sports News Tuesday - 10/9

The EWG girl’s tennis team defeated Pilgrim 7-0.  The team is currently in third place in the Division III West division.  Our next match is Wednesday, 10/9 at 3:30pm at Hope High School.
  
Congratulations to Katie Millar and Mike Dampier for finishing first in their cross country races Monday.  The boy’s team beat Middletown and West Warwick.

The EWG girl’s tennis team defeated Warwick Vets 6-1 yesterday. Their next match is Thursday (10/3) at Coventry at 3:00pm.

EWG Boosters Meets 10/7

The EWG Boosters Inc. will be meeting Monday Oct. 7th at 7pm in the high school teachers’ lounge. Please join us to support our student athletes.

A Bunch of Sports News!

Congratulations to Mike Dampier and Katie Millar for being the first and second Rhode Island runners, in their respective races, at  the Ocean State Invitational Cross Country Meet this past Saturday. The meet attracted schools from all over the northeast with over 200 runners per race.

Julia VanGuyzen and Sarah Rumsey represented EWG in the individual girls high school Division III qualifying tournament. Both girls defeated their Coventry opponents and have advanced into the main draw of the tournament scheduled for Friday, October 11.  Julia VanGuyzen advanced in 2012 also, as a junior.

On Friday , Sept. 27 , boys soccer team had a Varsity win against Johnston 2-1 with goals by Seniors Joey Miceli and Jack Livsey.  JV tied 2-2 .

Girls’ Varsity Volleyball beat Westerly on  Friday night.
