A busy weekend for the Knights!










The Girls Soccer team tied Pilgrim 2-2 on Thursday and beat Westerly 2-1 on Friday. The ladies are #1 in their division and will be hosting a quarterfinal game at home on Nov. 8th.

The Boys Soccer team lost to West Warwick on Friday 2-1 but remain in first place. They host a quarterfinal game at home on Wed. Nov. 3rd.

The JV Volleyball team won 10 straight games on Saturday to earn a spot in the DII State Finals at home on Tuesday Nov.2nd.

Girl's Basketball Team Meeting

Are you ready for top level athletic competition, suspenseful drama, unequaled artistry, and the ultimate example of teamwork?  Then your ready for the 2010-2011 Lady Scarlet Knights Basketball season and the girl's pursuit of Division I excellence!  A team meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 3rd immediately after morning announcements in the Auditorium.  All those returning players and new girls interested in trying out for the team are requested to attend to pick up paperwork and discuss the beginning schedule for the season.

Barrington 1 ! The Girls Volleyball team made the most of Sr. Night by beating the Barrington Eagles. The girls are in first place and headed to play-offs! Congratulations Ladies!

Wrestling Practice / Signup

Anybody interested in wrestling can sign up during stop and read on Wednesday, October 27th.  See Coach LaBrie in the cafeteria.  Captain’s practice for wrestling will be held this Thursday from 5:30-7:00pm in the multi-purpose room.

Volleyball Sr. Night

The Sr. Volleyball players will be recognised at their last home match on Wed. Oct. 27th at 5:30pm. The match against Barrington begins at 6:00pm. Come out and cheer on our Seniors and our #1 team! Good Luck Ladies!

Boys Win!

The Boys Soccer team beat Tiverton 4-1 on Monday afternoon. They play their last regular season game at home on Wed. at 3:30 against West Warwick.

Great Day!

Saturday was Homecoming and it was a great day at EWG! We had 2 Alumni Soccer games, both ending in "ties". The track was officially opened with a group walk led by Sharon Pelser. The football team beat Smithfield 42-13. And 22 Soccer, Football, Cheer and Cross Country Seniors and their parents were recognised. Thank you to all the alumni that played in the soccer games and to all the volunteers who helped at the field!

Tennis Sr. Day and Homecoming

Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 is Tennis Sr. Day. Senior recognition will be just before the matches start at 3:30pm.

Saturday Oct. 23, 2010 is Homecoming. The following events will take place:

9:30 am - Girls Soccer vs Alumni - Sr. recognition at half-time.

11:00 am - Boys Soccer vs Alumni - Sr. recognition at half-time

12:45 pm - Track dedication

1:40pm Recognition of Sr. Football players and Cheerleaders

2:00pm - Football game vs Smithfield - Recognition of Sr. Cross Country at half-time

Track Dedication & Road Race

Saturday, 10/23 at 12:45 the dedication of the new EWG track at the High School will take place.  Help us celebrate this great day!  Also on Sunday the 24th the eighth annual Stephen J. Anderson Road Race will take place.    Raffle tickets for a 50/50 raffle to be drawn at the race are also being sold.  If you can not attend the race and would like to buy tickets contact Sharon at 294-9272.

Girl's Volleyball Game Wednesday

The girl's volleyball team will be playing Tiverton at Tiverton HS, 6:30, Wednesday 10/20.  Come out and support your first place team!

Basketball Signup

Any student planning to try out for the boy’s basketball team should sign up in the senior high office and pick up an information packet. You must sign up in advance in order to try out. See Mr. Main if you have any questions.

Cross Country News

At Saturday’s Brown Northeast Cross Country Championship, Captain Amy Cunningham placed 1st in RI with a new school record of 19:55. Freshmen Mike Dampier and Don Galloway placed in the top hundred in a race of 500 competitors.  Congratulations to our EWG runners!

Shut out times 2!

The Girls Soccer team shut-out Woonsocket 8-0 on Thursday afternoon. Later that evening the Volleyball team beat Mt. Hope 3-0. Great job Ladies!!

EWG Beats North Providence in Division II Girl's Soccer

The EWG girl's soccer team beat North Providence 4-0.  Goals were scored by Allisa Georgio, Alyssa Clements, Alexis Clements, and Sophia Branca.

Girl's Volleyball in Tie for First Place

The girl's volleyball team played Our Lady of Fatima on 10/7, beating them 25-2, 25-13, 25-14.  The girl's now have a record of 8-1, and are tied for first place.  The Lady Knights play West Warwick on Friday, October 8 at 6:00 in a non-league game.  Come support your team!!!

Knights roll over Blue Wave

The Knights beat the Hope Blue Wave 28-16 on Saturday afternoon. Al Georgio scored all 4 touchdowns. The Wave was no match for our outstanding O-line and D-line! The Knights play North Smithfield at home on Oct. 9th at 2:00pm. GO KNIGHTS!
